What makes Elemental Cooking School amazing?
  • All of our team hail from different countries, bringing with them their own diverse culture, thanks to this we endeavor to teach the most authentic Asian flavours possible! PS: If you’re concerned about conversing with us, don’t be as we are completely fluent in English too.
  • We teach a minimum of 3 dishes per class (not just one dish, as many other classes out there do).
  • You get to be TOTALLY hands-on at your own cooking station, fully equipped with your own induction cooktop, fridges, pots and pans, cooking utensils, and fresh ingredients. You will be given an apron to wear during the lesson, and recipes will be given before class begins. You will feel completely comfortable cooking with us as we would also walk around to give you a hand in case you want us to, just to make sure your food is cooked to perfection, for you to have as your lunch/dinner at the end of the class!
  • Our chefs/instructors have completed and won a number of awards in the Culinary Industry – but please don’t feel intimidated as we love to laugh and have fun as we cook!
  • We have a major stand for Sustainability as we do commercial compost daily.
  • We serve only the BEST boutique wine and Asian beers but at a fair price of course! Asahi, Singha, Dog Point, Amisfield, Kumeu River, Misha’s Vineyard – the best stuff!
Where is the Elemental Cooking School?

We are located at Unit 1:3 & 1:4, AXIS building, 91 St Georges Bay Road, Parnell, Auckland.  Look out for a big white building on the corner.

Do you have a parking space?

Yes, we do! There are 4 allocated Elemental parking spaces available for you to use in the carpark in the parking lot on the left hand side just past our premises. They are number 01, 00, 08 & 10. These spaces have our name on them, these are on a first come, first serve basis. We do have street parking available on the street outside the School and surrounding roads  (there is a pay and display machine outside our premises). There is a Wilson underground parking lot across the road at 96 St Georges Bay Road available as well. There is Free street parking available anytime after 6:00pm weeknights & all day Saturdays & Sundays

Do we have to bring anything?

Nope, nothing at all!  We will provide everything such as aprons, ingredients, recipes, all the equipment you will need for the class, but you are welcome to bring your own containers to bring your food home to impress your family and friends!

How can I book? Do I have to call you?

For normal cooking classes, you can simply click “Class Calendar” from our website to book & pay online to receive an instant confirmation!  If you want to book an event /  group / private function, please send us an email to admin@elementalcookingschool.co.nz and we will book you in!

How do I buy gift voucher or passport?

You can simply navigate to our “SHOP” on our website and select either a passport or gift voucher. After purchase, you will receive a confirmation email from our admin manager once order is processed. We try process the orders with 24 hours, however the office is closed on Weekends, so for orders received after 2pm on Friday, will only be processed on Monday. For urgent gift voucher orders, , please feel free to give us a call on 09 302 7680.

How do I book a class using gift voucher or Asian Passport?

If you are trying to book a class using a gift voucher or passport, please go to Class Calendar and select the class that you would like to participate in.  When you move to the payment screen, you need to enter the Voucher Number which you received in the coupon code field (as payment for the class) and it will be deducted off your balance.  To book multiple classes, simply return to the classes page and select another class.

I have food allergy or health concern… can I still come and cook?

Absolutely YES you can!  We have had nearly 60,000 students in the last 12 years and have accommodated many different food requirements/allergies such as dairy-free, gluten-free, coeliac, pregnancies, FODMAP, special food allergy etc.  So in a nutshell, please don’t be shy and just let us know when you book and we will do our best to accommodate as much as we can!

Can we hire Elemental Cooking School for my events, parties or filming?

Yes, you can!  Please contact us on admin@elementalcookingschool.co.nz or (09) 302 7680.

Can I cancel or re-schedule my class?

For normal cooking class bookings, there is a free cancellation or re-scheduling your classes as long as we have been notified 72hrs prior. Otherwise, 100% cancellation fees will apply.
For group/private functions, please refer to the Terms of Trade.

How many people are in each class?

For normal cooking classes there will be up to 14 people per class – we like to keep the class small to give you more opportunity to speak to our chefs and also space to cook!

For group / private function, we can take up to 60 people at Elemental Cooking School. But if you have an even larger group, please let us know and we can cater for your group as well.  The last big group we organised had 90 people in the group – not just a demonstration but we all COOKED!
